PASSAIC VALLEY HORNETS

LAST SEASON: 1-11 overall record

CONFERENCE AND DIVISION: Big North Conference – Independence Division

HEAD COACH: Jim Holsworth (1st year)

KEY LOSSES: Kristina Kalezic (1st doubles), Cvetanka Dimkova (1st doubles)

RETURNING PLAYERS: Sophomore Anna Hosri will be back after splitting time at first singles and second singles in 2015 as a freshman. Hosri earned Second Team All-Passaic County honors last season. Besides Hosri, sophomore Grace Rose and junior Chae Rin Kim will be back for the Hornets, likely playing doubles.

STRENGTHS: Hosri will be the top player for Passaic Valley in 2016, and will likely vie for county honors once again. She should only be more improved with another year of experience at the varsity level.

TEAM TO BEAT: Wayne Hills

2016 OUTLOOK/COACHES COMMENT: “The Hornets will look to improve on last year’s record while trying to compete in the Big North – Independence. The Hornets will be led by returning Second Team All-County sophomore Anna Hosri.” – Jim Holsworth
